ENTREPRENEURSHIP
FUNDING EVENTS
TIMELINE
Sep 20' – May 24'
MY ROLE
Events Coordinator (2020 – 2022):
Focused on ground-level execution and student outreach. I coordinated venue management, managed day-to-day communications with student teams, and handled marketing assets to maximise event registration and attendee engagement.
President (2022 – 2024):
Took full strategic ownership of the portfolio. I secured funding, negotiated partnerships with university administration and external corporate sponsors, and formally established the frameworks for investor matching and mentor recruitment.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Over my four-year tenure, I led the strategic development and execution of HKUST’s core entrepreneurship funding and networking ecosystem, driving the success of major flagship initiatives including Founders' Club, MentorHUB@HKUST, and The BASE Case.
Partnering closely with the HKUST Entrepreneurship Center, I directed a comprehensive portfolio designed to empower student founders to formal business expansion and investor pitching.
By establishing this structured pipeline, we successfully bridged the gap between business pitch and real-world venture capital, creating a high-impact launchpad that accelerated hundreds of early-stage founders and connected them with critical industry resources.
FOUNDERS' CLUB
THE PROBLEM
Startup founders on campus often operate in silos. Faculty, alumni, and student entrepreneurs rarely had a dedicated space to cross-collaborate, share technical resources, or discover co-founders across different academic disciplines, stalling potential deep-tech partnerships.
THE SOLUTION
We established a recurring, high-engagement networking framework—ranging from casual Happy Hours to formal Fellow Dinners—that united over 150 tech founders, faculty, and alumni across Hong Kong and Shenzhen to spark cross-disciplinary collaboration and R&D matching.

MENTORSHIP NETWORK
THE PROBLEM
Early-stage startups face a steep learning curve during the foundation and market expansion phases. Without structured, consistent access to industry experts, many student teams struggled with avoidable pitfalls in regulatory compliance, product-market fit, and scaling logistics.
THE SOLUTION
We developed a structured advisory platform that matched active student startups with seasoned industry mentors and corporate executives, providing them with continuous, milestone-driven guidance to navigate early entity foundation and cross-border business expansion.

THE BASE CASE
THE PROBLEM
Traditional business case competitions often focus on theoretical problems rather than real-world market viability, leaving ambitious students with great ideas but zero experience pitching to actual venture capitalists or securing early-stage funding.
THE SOLUTION
We launched an intense, practical case competition layout where student teams solved real corporate challenges and pitched their minimal viable products directly to panels of real-world investors, fast-tracking their exposure to early capital matching and incubation entry.
